A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of  the shooting in Ladbroke Grove, which seriously injured an eight-year-old girl.

The girl was injured alongside her 34-year old father, after the person started shooting into their car in Ladbroke Grove on Sunday. They were with the rest of their family in the car, including a 32-year-old mother, and a 2-year-old. They were not physically harmed.

The father has been left with potentially life changing injuries, while the girl was put into surgery on Monday and is said to now be in a stable condition.

Superintendent Owen Renowden says of the incident: “I recognise that any shooting has a traumatic impact on the local community. There will be a continuing presence from our neighbourhood policing teams in the coming days.”

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed the suspect, who was arrested for attempted murder, has been released on bail until early February.
