Centre-back Joel Matip is to leave Liverpool FC at the end of this season

Joel Matip is leaving Liverpool after the final game of this season.
The 32-year-old defender spent eight years with the club, helping them win the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup.
Matip was one of the first signings of manager Jurgen Klopp, who is also leaving Anfield at the end of the summer.
On the Liverpool FC website, the manager said, ‘I am not sure I have come across too many players more loved than Joel Matip.’
He continued, ‘Joel is a wonderful professional, a wonderful footballer, and a wonderful human being.’
Liverpool will play their final match this season against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday 19th May .
The team are currently seven points behind Arsenal and 11 points ahead of Aston Villa in the league. So whatever happens in the upcoming match, they’ll end the season in third place.
