Theresa May refused a one-on-one Leader's debate during the 2017 General Election campaign

Politics so often worms its way into reality TV. Last year, Kezia Dugdale ate a witchetty grub on ‘I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here’. A few years later, Conservative MP Nadine Dorries ate a pig testicle.
Prime Minister Theresa May and Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, though, seem only to have an appetite for electoral success this year – and they may get in the way of the Aussie-themed fun.
In a debate planned for 9 December, the party leaders could face each other on the BBC whilst the ‘I’m a Celeb’ live final goes out on ITV. This morning, the opposition leader said he’d have preferred it if the debate could follow the reality show instead of clashing with it.
This got us thinking: what would Londoners prefer to watch? We’ve been asking for your views.
One Londoner, Simon, said the Brexit debate is far more important than a silly reality TV show.
“It’s actually important. It actually has an effect on me. ‘I’m a Celebrity’ really doesn’t.”
Another, Marina, argued that she’d much rather relax and put her feet up to some quality jungle-based entertainment.
“Watching Brexit would just me frustrating. But I’m a Celeb is pure entertainment!”
Finally, Jonathan said that both would be absolutely unbearable.
“Neither hold any particular importance to me.”
Maybe he’ll prefer the snooker on the other side.
