The London Assembly have released figures showing suicide rates in London are on the rise.
According to the research, there has particularly been a rise in suicide numbers between the years 2014 and 2015. During this time the number of suicides in London increased by 33%, from 552 to 735.
The London Assembly calls on the Mayor of London to take action to prevent suicide.
The number of suicides in Islington and Camden are 25 per cent higher than the London average.
Its Health Committee has published a number of recommendations for the Mayor to tackle the issue.
These include introducing a pilot scheme in a London borough, with the aim of making London a zero-suicide city.
