In celebration of Shrove Tuesday pancake enthusiasts will leg it down to The Old Truman Brewery, frying pan in hand for a race with a difference. In aid of London Air Ambulance teams of four will race up and down Drays Walk, on Brick Lane, to raise funds for the charity.
The event is run by The Alternative Arts London, an organisation which champions local arts development and urban regeneration.
Participants will get down to the start line for 12.30pm either dressed up (or dressed down) for the heats and sprint through the cobbled streets of Spitalfields. The winners will be announced later in the day and awarded with the coveted prize- an engraved frying pan.
So what are the rules of the race? Toss your pancakes a couple of times throughout the run and make it across the finish line.
