Day two of Wimbledon gets underway with 2014 semi-finalist Grigor Dimitrov kicking off the action on the No.2 court against American Steve Johnson.

The big tie to look out for is the return of seven-time champion Serena Williams, who was forced to retire in her match against Aliaksandra Sasnovich last year. She’ll be playing France’s Harmony Tan on Centre Court around at 16:45 BST.

wimbledon Serena WILLIAMS
Serena Williams has won at The Championship seven times.

Before Serena Williams enters Centre Court, French Open Champion Rafael Nadal will face Argentine Francisco Cerúndolo.

Nadal is the men’s tournament’s second seed and looking to win his first SW19 title since 2010. The Spaniard has only gone further than the fourth round twice in the last 12 years and hasn’t entered the competition since 2019.

The first day’s matches are set to get underway beneath patchy clouds and amidst bursts of sunshine.

Home favourites to look out for include Jack Draper, who took a set off Novak Djokovic as they met in the first round of last year’s tournament. Draper will be up against Belgian Zizou Bergs on Court 12.

Former British number one Heather Watson continues her tie against Tamara Korpatsch, which was suspended as they were about to start the final set yesterday.
