A Take Back Power spokesperson told City news that they are “gonna keep making it hard for the super rich to sleep.”
On Wednesday, three activists dumped manure below the Christmas Tree in the lobby of the famous Ritz hotel, part of anew non-violent civil resistance called ‘Take Back Power’.
The supporters were subsequently removed from the lobby, where they held out signs outside the entrance.
Take Back Power
Joe Clark, graduated from the University of Leeds and works at a charity. He’s just joined the group after agreeing with their message.
“I’m just a supporter. I saw the action yesterday, and I thought it was class, and I’m here to talk about the action… I was a fan of it. I got involved. I’ve been asked to come on here and talk about it.”
The group seek to set up a permanent ‘House of The People’ that allows citizens to make decisions on how billionaires will be taxed.
Clark warns,
“We’re gonna continue making it hard for the super rich to sleep. We’re gonna continue drawing attention to institutions like the Ritz.”
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan police said officers were called to reports of criminal damage at the five star hotel in Mayfair. No arrests have been made, inquiries continue.
The Ritz has not responded to a request for comment.
