Over 130 CEOs based in London gathered at Lords Cricket Grounds in St John’s Woods on Monday night in order to raise funds to help fight deprivation in the capital.
All attendees had until yesterday at noon to collect the largest number of donations. CEO of Fleming’s Hotel Group Henrik Muehle was crowned 2023’s biggest fundraiser. After reaching £22,540, he then joined the other participants at Lord’s. Mr Muehle had told City News about his experience with CEO Sleepout:
“Being part of this amazing challenge is an experience that brings people closer together”.

The night was disrupted by rain showers and wind, but nothing demotivated the participants in their quest to complete the challenge. Since 2013, CEO Sleepout have been organising these challenges all around the UK to fight poverty, with this edition marking the 10th anniversary of the charity’s conception.
The London event was particularly important for the charity team as the capital faces the highest wealth gap in the country. According to the Institute for Fiscal Studies, London housing prices have hit an inflation peak of 13%, 7% higher than the rest of the country, making Londoners especially vulnerable to extreme poverty and homelessness. Mr Muehle stated that “it is important to never forget that every day in this city, thousands of people are experiencing poverty. As business leaders, we can make a difference and influence others to help those in need”.
