A Metropolitan Police officer has been charged with attempted rape and sexual assault.
Superintendent Jamie Gordon, a senior officer within the force, was charged with attempted rape and sexual assault on a woman while off duty. He worked within the South East Command Unit, covering Bexley, Greenwich and Lewisham.
The offences took place on December 8 and December 19 2023. He was arrested January 19 and suspended from duty. He was charged on November 4, and will be sentenced on December 4.
