The incident took place at Bessborough Road in Harrow, at around 9.20pm on Monday evening. The collision involved a 395 London bus and one other car.

In a statement made on Tuesday morning, a Met police spokesperson said one of the pedestrians waiting at the bus stop, a woman in her 40s, died at the scene.

A nine-year-old girl was amongst the other pedestrians rushed to hospital with injuries following the collision.

The driver of the car has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, and is currently being held in custody.

Detectives have appealed for witnesses of the crash and those with dashcam footage to come forward.

An Ambulance spokesperson said “We treated four patients at the scene before taking two patients to a major trauma centre and discharging one patient at the scene.

“Very sadly, despite best efforts of our crews, one person was pronounced dead at the scene.”
