Figures released by the Office for National Statistics show that the UK economy has grown faster than expected in the last three months. The economy grew 0.5 per cent, led predominantly by strong growth in the services sector, such as films, retail and computer programming.
It’s worth noting that some other sectors, such as agriculture and construction, actually shrunk in the last quarter.
While the figures indicate the economy is showing signs of resilience, following last June’s Brexit vote, the Chancellor and business leaders have cautioned of further turbulence ahead.
