£4,500 bottle of wine for the price of £260

One lucky diner in Manchester was served a very expensive bottle of wine by accident. A customer at the upmarket steakhouse, Hawksmoor, actually ordered a £260 bottle of wine. They were given a different bottle which is £4500 on the menu instead.

The waiter confused the expensive Chateau Pichon 2001 for the Chateau le Pin Pomerol 2001.

But luckily, the manager did not seem too concerned and described the incident as a “one-off mistake”.

TFL rakes in £220,000 a day from new pollution charge

The Mayor of London’s scheme to make the capital more eco-friendly is bringing in hundreds of thousands pounds each day.

The Ultra Low Emission Zone, which rolled out in early April, has already brought in £220,000. This is due to an average of 17,400 people driving older more polluting vehicles who have paid the charge.

This meant 9400 fewer ‘polluting’ vehicles entered the zone, down 26% from March.

Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan says “bold actions reaps rewards”. He’s hoping to keep expanding the zone to the North and South Circular by 2021.

Sculpture breaks the record for the most expensive piece sold by a living artist

The 1986 steel rabbit sold for £71 million in New York at Christie’s auction house.

The rabbit is 41 inches in size, with bunny ears, chubby legs and a carrot in paw. US pop artist Jeff Koons created the sculpture, and is known for working with popular culture subjects and his reproductions of banal objects.

Waitrose reveals £1bn online overhaul

Waitrose is aiming to treble the size of its online business to £1bn annually, following the end of its partnership with Ocado. The boost will propel the upmarket greengrocer into a market leader for home delivery.

Amazon prepares to invest £450m in Deliveroo

And big things will soon be happening for takeaway service Deliveroo, as Amazon leads a £450 million investment into the company.  The startup is hoping to expand across into new markets with the additional finance.

Both Uber and Deliveroo have been rivals over the past few months, trying to gain financial support from Amazon.
