In a speech on the polar research ship named after him, Sir David Attenborough also called on world leaders at Cop26 to listen to the science.
Sir David said: “We all know the magnitude of the dangers facing us in the immediate future.
“Would it not be marvellous to suppose that as a consequence of our discoveries, and science’s discoveries, the nations of the world joined together and actually did something in this coming Cop?”.
A conference that takes action is Attenborough’s desire. He hopes nations get together and listen to the science of what has to be done to tackle climate change.

The vessel is a great compliment to Attenborough, as the scientist is said to be very proud of this moment.
The 129m long ship has spent the past year in shake-down trials around the British coast.
The Research vessel’s first ocean voyage will take her to Antarctica for the new austral summer research season.
