It is the first major shop in London to reveal its festive decorations, marking an early start to the Christmas countdown.

Selfridges managing director Andrew Keith said: “We are ready to bring magical moments to our customers, however they wish to celebrate this year, with our Christmas of Dreams.
“We know our customers have been dreaming of being together, so we are looking forward to hosting friends and families at Selfridges to celebrate even more extraordinary experiences this festive season.”
Other high street favourites Harvey Nichols and Liberty are yet to open their displays.
Socially-distanced Santa
Harrods, which is known for its glamorous Christmas decorations, announced this week that it was cancelling its famous grotto.

A spokesperson said that Father Christmas would be social distancing for the foreseeable future.
“However, our promise to bring the spirit of Christmas to our customers both in-store and at home remains the same and over the coming weeks we will be sharing plans for the festive season.”
