Many papers lead with the fears over isolation rules which will last until mid-August, while they also await England’s football match tonight against Denmark.

The Daily Mail CoverThe headlines dominating the front of the Daily Mail are split into two halves.

One half calls the government’s plans to extend self-isolation rules for another six-weeks “Isolation Insanity”, which it says is ruining plans for up to 3.5 million people every week as well as threatening holidays and businesses.

The other half of the cover cheers on cheers on England’s footballers and calls on them to “Make history.”

The Daily Telegraph is also running the isolation extension on its cover, which they say “slam the breaks on freedom.”

They also highlight that fully vaccinated holidaymakers are to get fast-track lanes at Heathrow under plans to open up quarantine-free foreign travel to amber countries.

Similarly, the front cover is also celebrating the England team, with a photo of England captain Harry Kane, reporting that he and Gareth Southgate have assured a “hopeful nation” that England are ready to reach a major tournament final.

According to The Financial Times, businesses fear staffing “carnage” in the delay before the isolation rules end, saying that there are warnings of weeks of workplace chaos.

It expects that about 2 million people a week will be at risk of contracting coronavirus or being asked to self-isolate.

The Guardian Cover

Meanwhile, The Guardian cover is split into two halves. On the top they are leading with fears that 10 million may face summer isolation as Covid-19 cases surge as alarm is growing over the risk to health and economy.

It quotes Health Secretary Sajid Javid saying that England was entering “uncharted territory” in its wholesale scrapping of lockdown rules from July 19th.

On the other half, they are running the story of 19-year-old Danyal Hussein, who was convicted yesterday of the murder of two sisters in a park in Wembley last year.

It leads with the headline “Justice for murdered sisters – And questions for the Met” as Hussein committed the crime after coming through a government de-radicalisation programme.

They reported that investigators considered he underwent a form of radicalisation in terms of exposure to occult material on the dark web.

The Daily Express Cover

The Daily Express also leads with the England match and isolation story, but from a slightly more hopeful angle.

They write that there will be a “Freedom Boost” for the Double-jabbed as millions who are fully vaccinated will not have to isolate from August 16th if they have been exposed to Covid-19.

The Times Cover

The Times paper says that from as early as July, fully vaccinated people arriving in England from amber-list countries will be able to avoid quarantine.

They say that ministers will meet up today to sign off a policy that will allow people to travel from amber destinations without isolating for up to 10 days, which will open up travel from Spain, France, Italy and Greece.

They also feature the football on their cover, but lead with a goal from Boris Johnson, who urged England players to “bring it home” last night as he stepped up efforts for Britain to host the World Cup in 2030.
