Tonight, the Food Assembly will introduce a new strategy to source food.
Every Tuesday evening local farmers will be exchanging their produce directly with their neighbours.
They believe this alternative way of shopping will improve the economy. Over 80p of each pound spent will go straight to the producer.

The Assembly cuts out the middleman, and allows the producer to earn more, than if they were supplying to a supermarket, with the vision to bring back power to the producers and consumers.
The Food Assembly was started in France in 2010, and now has over eighty hubs in the UK.
Davide Ravasi, professor of innovation and management at Cass Business School said he thinks this new project will work because over the past ten years he’s seen consumers are becoming more concerned about where their food comes from.
With the Food Assembly starting in Islington Town House, locals will know exactly where and who their food comes from.
Supporting the heart of the community, The Food Assembly plans on opening more hubs across London, so consumers can enjoy more fresh and natural produce.
