Osman Saeed, 40, is standing trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court charged with sexual assault, common assault and false imprisonment of three women between 2012 and 2018.
Mr Saeed’s defence team strongly deny the charges, asserting today that the claimants are Islamophobic.
A witness told the jury that one of the claimants remarked to him that “she did not like Muslim people”, prior to the date of the alleged incident.
Prosecutors suggested that this witness was asked to give a false testimony, in order to cast doubt on the credibility of the accusers.
The trial is on-going with another witness due to be cross-examined today.
Closing statements are likely to take place on Friday with a verdict expected on Monday.
