A man has been sentenced to 28 months in prison after been found guilty on four charges of abuse and harassment of his ex-wife.
Reece Webb, 27, was sentenced at Blackfriars Crown Court after pleading guilty for three of the counts including assault with intent to cause bodily harm, the offence of affray and witness intimidation.
He was also found guilty of malicious communication after threatening to “break every bone” in his ex-wife’s body “before putting a bullet in her head.”
The offences occurred between April 2018 and August 2019.
The primary occasion referred to in the sentence hearing happened on 16 October 2018, when the defendant broke into his ex-partners property by smashing through a window.
The victim said she was pinned against a wall, punched in the head and received a deep cut to the hand. This was done in the presence of her three children.
Once the police were called to the property, Mr Webb climbed onto the roof. From there, he threatened to throw tiles if his ex-partner attempted to seek medical help for her sustained injuries.
Despite the defendant’s attempt to provide evidence explaining why he was at the property, the judge dismissed them as being untrue.
He is due to serve up to half of his sentence and then be released on licence. A restraining order lasting five years has also come into force to protect the victim.
