A man charged with drug driving has admitted to the offence and has been disqualified for three years.
Ugur Bayir of Tottenham, was pulled over on 5 August 2019 in Wood Green.
When police approached the vehicle, they acknowledged a strong scent of cannabis. The vehicle was also not registered in Bayir’s name.
Bayir was brought to a police station where he was tested for drugs. The test came back positive for cannabis.
On Wednesday, Mr Bayir pleaded guilty to drug driving at Highbury Magistrates Court. When sentencing, the district judge ask the defendant to be more careful in the future.
The judge commented on the effects of cannabis whilst driving, it’s sensory impact that not only endangers the driver, but also the public safety on the road.
Mr Bayir was disqualified from driving for three years and received a total fine of £250.
