A 42-year-old Londoner has been given a suspended 21-week prison sentence and fined over £200 for possession of a weapon with intent to harm.
Mohammed Hydara of High Road, Wood Green had pleaded guilty at Highbury Magistrates Court.
Mr Hydara says he had been attacked 45 minutes prior to police arriving and was preparing to defend himself. Police had been called on the evening of 3 November 2019 to reports of a man acting suspiciously in an alleyway.
When police approached Mr Hydara, he was holding a wooden table leg and dropped a knuckle duster. He was detained under Section 1 of the Police And Criminal Evidence Act.
Prior to sentencing the Judge reminded the defendant of the danger of the weapons.

In court the defendant displayed a high level of remorse, admitted his regret whilst also saying he had poor conflict resolution skills. Prior to sentencing the Judge reminded the defendant of the danger of the weapons.
