A woman died after falling from a building in London Fields has been named as Mariana Pinto.

The 32 year old originally from Brazil, lost her life after falling from the window of a rented flat in Westgate Street on Sunday.

She fell from a bunkbed in an upstairs room onto a glass roof, before falling again onto the ground.

Hackney Council have revealed that they had received a complaint about the building last year however upon inspection found nothing wrong.

The landlord has refused to comment.
