The chairman of JD Wetherspooos, has fired a warning shot that the chain could stop selling drinks from other European counties if senior EU leaders maintain a bullying approach to Brexit negotiations.
Deals with European suppliers would be affected if Britain fails to secure tariff-free transactions, causing prices to rise, or even a complete absence of European beers in Wetherspoon chains.
North London Wetherspoon pubs are set to implement the changes if Brexit negotiations continue in the negative way they have started.
Tim Martin had previously been an advocate for the Vote Leave Campaign, but since Brexit, there’s been a sales reduction of 1.2% in his pubs. Today’s announcement could reveal new challenges for the company.
