The annual ‘Wrap up Winter’ charity campaign comes to an end today, just in time for the frosty bite of winter. The campaign aims to help the thousands of people who will be sleeping on the streets this winter by asking the public to donate their coats and jackets.
This will be the 6th year Wrap up London has been running in London, and the charity estimates it will be getting 15000 coat donations. The public has been able to drop their coats off at 15 points across London, including King’s Cross, Euston and Highbury& Islington overground.
After the drop off points close today the coats will then be collected and distributed to 110 charities, who focus on specifically helping various groups who find themselves homeless at this time of year including refugees and women fleeing domestic violence.
