After a long and brutal campaign, today millions of Americans will cast their vote for the next President of the United States. After 19 months of one of the most scandalous campaigns in history, thousands of people across the globe will be tuning in to see whether Hilary Clinton or Donald Trump will be the new leader of the free world.
Both candidates have spent the last few days doing a final campaign push in many swing states. Trump said at a rally in New Hampshire “We are just one day away from the change you’ve been waiting for all your life.” Hilary, on the other hand, has been pushing the message that a vote for her will be a vote for a united America.
With the large time difference between America and Britain, the results will not be announced here in London until the early hours of Wednesday morning. However many events and parties in our surrounding boroughs will be taking place so people can join in in the suspense of the election. Amongst these, the most highly anticipated event is the Shoreditch ‘Popbitch Presidential Party.’ The popup will include food, drinks, and coffee to power people through the night, as well as Trump and Clinton theme games. Those who manage to stay up until the final result will be rewarded with a ‘survivor breakfast.’
