Nowadays, 1 in 4 women suffer domestic abuse in Haringey. As Friday is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence 2016, the council is hosting a meeting aiming to raise awareness. This event will celebrate what has already been done to end violence against women and girls and outline future plans.
However, despite these actions, victims are still not feeling well supported at the moment. Some will be able to speak about their experience during the meeting and help to find a way for more efficient solutions.
