A student had her phone snatched by a thief on a motorbike Outside City University this morning.
The incident took place on St John Street just before 10 am.
It was witnessed by another City student, Georgia Edkin, who herself was targeted by the same thieves on Wednesday. She told City News that the thief cycled up behind her and tried to flip the phone out of her hands, though she managed to keep hold of the phone.
Ms Edkin said the man cycled away on the pavement ‘so fast he could have killed someone’ and the incident left her feeling ‘shaken, scared and hollow’. After witnessing today’s incident, she is convinced that it was carried out by the same man.
The two incidents come a fortnight after another student had their phone snatched. A City spokesperson told City News that they are liaising with the police and are urging students to be vigilant.
