Animal charity Blue Cross have just launched a new appeal to encourage Londoners to donate baby socks to Blue Cross animal hospitals for all their cat and dog patients.
There are over sixteen million pet dogs and cats in the UK and thousands need surgery every year. Whilst most come out fit and well some suffer the complications due to cold paws.
New research suggests that animals can lose heat through their paws when they’re under anaesthetic. This is the problem that the Blue Cross aim by collecting as many baby socks as possible to put on their cat and dog patients.
Socks can be donated to any Blue Cross hospital or mobile vet clinic across London.
