Spring’s first arrivals come to Hackney City Farm.
Twin brothers Romeo and Hamlet were born on 25th February and are just making their way into the public eye.
The two kids “are doing great and enjoying exploring their new home,” said farm manager, Chris Pounds.

For over 20 years, Hackney City Farm has been giving the local community the opportunity to experience farming from the heart of the city.

5 fun facts about baby goats, aka kids:
#1 Kids most commonly arrive as twins (just like Romeo and Hamlet.)
#2 Baby goats learn to stand within minutes of being born.
#3 Siblings know each other. We knew Romeo and Hamlet were best friends.
#4 For centuries, the young of a goat have been called kids. It wasn’t until the 1800’s that the word ‘kid’ was extended to children.
#5 The vocal sound a goat makes is called a bleat. Mother and kid goats recognize each other’s calls soon after the mothers give birth. Goat kids also bleat when they’re excited for feeding time.
