The defendant appeared at Hendon Magistrates Court on Wednesday 15th November.

Mr Hueber was also charged with failing to appear in court for the same theft two days earlier. He pleaded guilty to both charges.
His lawyer claimed it was a “mix up of dates” that led to the defendant’s lack of appearance on 13th November. Police arrested him the following day and held him in custody over night.
Mr Lock for the prosecution said Mr Hueber was caught “red-handed” stealing a bottle of rum from Tesco on 28th October, which he planned to sell to buy drugs. The court also heard the defendant had tested positive for opiates when arrested for the theft.
Mr Hueber had a previous conviction for possession of Class A drugs and already owed more than £500 in court fines. His arrest for this theft was in breach of a conditional discharge for his previous crime.
The defence said Mr Hueber was a heroin addict and had no source of income. He also rejected an offer of help with his addiction.
In sentencing the Judge said there was no point fining the defendant money that he could not afford to pay.
Instead, his night in custody before the trial was accepted in place of a financial penalty for both charges.
The Judge did strongly urge Mr Hueber to seek medical help with his addiction to prevent further appearances in court.
