Ex semi-professional footballer shakes rake at gardener in Victoria Embankment Gardens
SHARE:
A gardener working in Victoria Embankment Gardens was raking bushes on the 22nd July this year when he was interrupted by Patrick Etial.
The ex-semi professional footballer stole the rake and chased the gardener out of the gardens.
He has been found guilty of unlawful violence and has been sentenced to fourteen days in custody. The judge said his custody should have been twenty-one days but because he pleaded guilty immediately, his sentence was shortened.
Etial’s behaviour was reported as ‘strange’ and was heard shouting “this is the Garden of Eden, everyone must leave now!”
This is not the first of Etial’s offences. He has previously served a two year sentence for the possession and selling of class B drugs and has nineteen other offences placed against him.
His representative said Etial had got involved with “the wrong people”.
He also told City Magistrates’ Court London of his defendant’s young dream of becoming a police officer. But it appears Etial finds himself on the wrong side of the law.
As well as his custody, Etial will be supervised for twelve months. Any bad behaviour during this time will put him at risk of being imprisoned again.
