The warehouse fire at Enfield has been contained by fire fighters and police, stopping the blaze which produced the black smoke which could be seen across the capital.

The Fire Brigade and police were called at 9.13am to the Ponder End Industrial Estate in East Duck Lees. They continue to battle flames on the ground floor, first floor and roof of the factory.

Twelve fire engines and 81 fire fighters comprise the team, drawn from crews from Enfield, Chingford, Edmonton, Woodford and other neighbouring fire stations.

The cause of the fire is not yet known and no casualties have been reported. Five people were inside the office when the fire started, but none were injured.

Smoke from the blaze has been visible across London this morning.
