Aveesha Ahsan is accused of sexually assaulting a student

Yesterday Inner London Crown Court heard that Ms Ahsan had repeatedly tried to initiate physical contact with the student and even suggested they moved in together.
According to the prosecution, Aveesha Ahsan, 33, repeatedly asked the girl to engage in sexual activities and kissed her twice on the cheek.
A transcript of WhatsApp messages sent between the two was shown to the jury. The 16 year old victim told the court that she was often made to feel “uncomfortable” by Ms Ahsan’s messages.
“My intention is to be close to you, not just to teach…I’m sorry I know I’m not supposed to say that,” wrote Ms Ahsan in one message that was shown to the jury.
In another message she said: “I’m like your older sister it’s fine, sisters hug and kiss.”
Some of the messages were more threatening: “What’s wrong with you? Has someone raped you or murdered your children?”
The complainant alleged that Ms Ahsan wanted to be too involved in her private life claiming that she wanted to know everything about her.
It is also alleged that Ms Ahsan had written a note to the teenager saying: “Will you marry me? If you don’t I’ll kill you.”
“I thought if I said yes she was literally going to marry me,” said the victim in court.
Ms Ahsan allegedly used to walk home from school with the teenager against her wishes.
“She said I should wait for her because it’s dark and not safe…but I didn’t want to.”
Ms Ahsan, from London, denies one count of sexual assault and one count of sexual activity with a child in a position of trust.
The trial is ongoing.
