The winning team celebrate their victory.

On Monday, Camden-based Charity Third Age Project organised a Christmas Boccia Tournament. 40 Camden residents attended the tournament, with 38 participants in five teams.  One participant told City News that the event was “just getting together, meeting new people, meeting friend, exercise and having fun.”

The charity has about 400 members, and aims to tackle loneliness and improve physical mobility for over-60s. The charity is run by and for elderly people, thanks to private funding and volunteer support.

A volunteer at the event told City News “Our aim is to help more people that are alone, so that we can help them to empower [themselves] so that they can live independently”
