Police confirmed that an inmate was found with stab wounds at Wormwood Scrubs in Shepherd’s Bush. The alarm was reportedly raised at 3:20pm on Wednesday.
The victim has since been named as 25-year-old Khader Saleh.
Despite efforts made by paramedics the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two men aged 21, a 23-year-old man, and a 20 year-old-man, all prisoners at Wormwood Scrubs prison, remain in police custody.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the victim’s next of kin had been informed and a post-mortem examination would be held in due course.
An inspection report published in December 2017 found the jail had chronic staff shortages, food supply issues and a rise in violence.
HM Inspectorate of Prisons warned that Wormwood Scrubs was “still not safe enough”.
