City News have pulled together some top tips in order for you to enjoy your weekends in the most eco-friendly way possible:
1. Share a Car
With cars adding to greenhouse gas emissions, an easy way to reduce this pollution is through sharing a car with your fellow festival-goers. Team up, make a road trip of it!
2. Don’t throw away your tent
A tent is mostly made out of plastic, which is the equivalent to 8,750 straws or 250 pint cups. On average, 250,000 tents get left behind in UK fields each year which equates to around 870 tonnes of plastic. One simple way of reducing your plastic waste – don’t ditch that tent!
3. Bring your own cutlery
Festivals are renowned for single-use plastic waste, and cutlery is a big part of this. Simply bring your own cutlery and the problem is solved.

4. Bring a bottle and keep refilling
The same goes for plastic bottles. Bring one with you to refill as you go. With the latest trend in reusable bottles, you can make sure your festival style doesn’t suffer at the same time… our personal favourites are Chilly’s bottles.
5. Invest in a proper waterproof – don’t buy the plastic ones
We’re not sure why those plastic ponchos are so popular anyway. They don’t exactly keep you dry, plus they are NOT stylish. Bring a proper waterproof with you and you’ll help save the environment PLUS you’ll actually stay dry. Win win.
