The Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee concluded that vulnerable guests were being exploited for the “purpose of entertainment.”

ITV Studios axed the show in May after one of the shwo’s guest committed suicide. Steve Dymond died of an overdose ten days after he failed a lie detector test on the TV programme.

Jeremy Kyle has been asked to appear before parliament as part of the inquest but he has so far refused to do so.

Love Island, another of ITV’s programmes, has also come under scrutiny after two former contestants committed suicide.
