EasyJet has confirmed it will restart flights from Luton and Stansted airports next week.

The airline will carry out around 500 flights a day across Europe.

Passengers can travel to a variety of European places, including Paris and Portugal.

Most of EasyJet’s planes have been grounded since March.

The airline is continuing flights after raising £419 million from investors.

EasyJet had anticipated cutting costs due to the coronavirus’ impact on air travel.

Currently, the Foreign Office is advising against travelling abroad but some reports suggest that these limitations will soon be lifted.

EasyJet’s chief commercial and strategy officer Robert Carey said “The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew remains our highest priority.

“This is why we have implemented a number of measures enhancing safety at each part of the journey from disinfecting the aircraft to requiring customers and crew to wear masks.”

Flawed action

EasyJet had previously announced plans to challenge the government’s two week quarantine policy after international travel.

The government introduced a two week quarantine policy for those who arrive in the UK earlier this month.

EasyJet, Ryanair, and British Airways announced their intention to legally challenge in the policy earlier this month.

The airlines all said that this measure could “destroy” Britain’s tourism industry.
