Police are continuing to question two people in relation to stabbings which happened just hours apart.

The stabbings claimed the lives of two teenagers.

A 15-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Tamim Ian Habimana, also 15.

Officers were called to reports of the stabbing in Woolwich New Road, on Monday evening and found Mr Habimana suffering from a single stab wound.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, despite extensive efforts of emergency services to save.

Seperately, a 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of the killing of Keane Flynn-Harling, 16, which occurred just hours after Mr Tamim’s murder.

Officers were called to Oval Place, Lambeth, at 11:45pm on Monday.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Metropolitan Police say the families of both victims are being aided by specially trained officers.

Appeals have been made by the Met Police for anyone to come forward with more information.

London stabbings at an all time high

This year has seen the number of violent teenage deaths in London at an all time high in nearly a decade.

A total of 21 teenagers have been killed in just over six months in London as of Tuesday.

This had led to concerns that the total stabbings for the year will exceed the previous high of 27 in 2017.
