A man has been charged after Deputy Labour Leader Angela Rayner got a series of threatening and abusive calls.
36-year-old Benjamin Iliffe, from Slade Way, Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, has been charged with malicious communications and possession of cannabis, according to Greater Manchester Police (GMP).
GMP have stated that a 52-year-old man has been bailed, after he was arrested on suspicion of malicious communications on Friday 15 October.
GMP have also revealed that a 70-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of malicious communication relating to abusive messages received on Saturday 16 October.
Iliffe has been remanded into custody and will appear before Huntingdon Magistrates Court later today.
GMP stated that “enquiries remain ongoing and GMP continues to work in partnership with Cambridgeshire Constabulary and South Yorkshire Police.”
