All three pleaded not guilty to their charges starting a 4 week trail, yet a day after the trail began they changed to a guilty plea for controlling prostitution. Claudia Anca and her brother Vasile Anca also pleaded guilty to supplying Class A drugs.
Claudia Anca is thought to be the ring leader of the operation, promoting sexual services business on a website. The siblings would also supply customers with Cocaine.
Mihaita Strat was involved in the transportation of sexual workers to their customers, usually hotels.
There were 73 payments to their business Ace Concept between July 2019 and January 2021, totalling £23,162.99.
“The Met is committed to keeping London a safe place”
Detective Inspector Nigel Penney, from the Met’s Modern Slavery and Child Exploitation Team said this “was an excellent investigation by [his] team of detectives [resulting in] overwhelming evidence against them”.
“This criminal enterprise was run and controlled by Claudia Anca who, along with her brother Vasile and Strat, had absolutely no regard for the welfare or safety of the women they exploited for their own greed.
“The Met is committed to keeping London a safe place for everyone and will continue to work behind the scenes to robustly target and bring to justice people like the Anca siblings and Strat who treat people as nothing more than an object to make money.”
After an undercover Metropolitan Police officer interacted with Ace Concept resulting in the police having enough evidence to run a ‘sting’ on 13 January 2021 with the aim of arresting the trio.
The three all gave ‘no comment’ interviews and were charged on 15 January 2021.
Charges relating to trafficking have been left on file.
