The Metropolitan Police update that they have discovered six bodies at the scene of a house fire in Hounslow, West London. The individuals have not been formally identified but officers confirmed that the dead include both adults and children.
The deaths are still being treated as unexplained.
The police were called to a residential address on Channel Close at about 22:30 BST on Sunday. The London Fire Brigade and Ambulance Services also attended the scene.
A seventh individual, a man, is still receiving treatment in hospital for serious burns. His condition is not considered to be life-threatening.
Detective Chief Inspector Garth Hall, the senior investigating officer on the case, described the deaths as ‘simply heart-breaking’ and expressed condolences for those affected. The families concerned are being supported by specialist officers.
The announcement ended with a repeated call for witnesses or anyone with recordings from the evening.
