Trains on the Great Western and Elizabeth line are expected to be disrupted until the end of the day between London Paddington and Reading after a broken rail was discovered in west London.

The damage was found near Hayes & Harlington station in west London. Network Rail say they will only be able to repair the damage in the evening.

It is the fourth damaged rail on the Great Western line in eight days.

Routes affected include the Elizabeth line between Abbey Wood and Maidenhead, Reading and Heathrow Terminal 4, and GWR’s route between London Paddington and Didcot Parkway.
