Londoners have the longest commutes in the UK according to new research.

Commuters in London are the least happy in the UK according to new research.

Almost one in four of London commuters are thought to ‘hate’ their commute. This is in comparison with 16% across the UK in general.

The research also found that over one in ten were caused stress by their commute.

Commuting Londoners also face the most delays during their journeys to and from work compared to the rest of the UK.

Research by the fitness firm Peloton has highlighted Londoners’ dislike of the commute.

The average Londoner commutes for an average of 38 minutes each way, in contrast with the country-wide average of 32 minutes door to door.

However, London journeys are only an average of 6 miles, under half of the distance the wider UK population travels to work.

Delays account for 22 minutes of most British commuters’ journeys.

Londoners could face tougher than usual commutes on Thursday as weather warnings for heavy rain sweep the capital.

Commuters traversing the central line have been facing delays almost every day this year due to train shortages.

Only 4000 people participated in the research survey, which is a tiny sample size out of the two million that take the tube alone every day.
