Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney is set to re-join Celtic in the summer, after news emerged that the defender has signed a pre-contract agreement.
It was initially thought that the Gunners were looking to move Tierney on in the January transfer window.
But as reported by The Telegraph this afternoon, the full-back is now likely to depart for Scotland in August.
Tierney has yet to start a league match this season for Arsenal. His last appearance for the club was in Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, coming on as a substitute in the 77th minute.
The left-back signed for Arsenal in 2019 for a reported £25 million fee.
But injuries have hampered his time at the club, and he has often found himself sidelined by current manager, Mikel Arteta.
Competition for spaces in the left of Arsenal’s defence is high, with the likes of Myles Lewis-Skelly, Jakub Kiwior, Riccardo Calafiori and Oleksandr Zinchenko all vying for a place.
Tierney came through Celtic’s academy, making his debut first-team appearance in 2015.
He went on to win four titles and two Scottish Cups with Brendan Rodgers at the helm.
Rodgers now finds himself back at Celtic Park, but has not commented on a potential return for the full-back.
