Chelsea have agreed a deal with Barcelona for England midfielder Keira Walsh, subject to a medical.
Barcelona had previously been unwilling to sell, but a deal was struck late last night for the 27 year old midfielder.
With her contract due to expire in the Summer, Walsh has been eyeing a return to the Women’s Super League after joining Barcelona for what was then a record fee in 2022.
In her time in Spain, the midfielder won back-to-back Champions League and Liga Femeni titles. She was also a key member of the 2022 Euros winning team and has made 80 overall caps for her country.
Sky News have reported a fee of around £500,000.
This follows the announcement that Chelsea broke the transfer record to bring in US centre-back Naomi Girma in a deal worth £900,000
Fellow England international Chloe Kelly is also potentially on the move after she admitted she ‘wants to be happy again’ after encountering difficulty in securing a move away from Manchester City.
The WSL transfer window shuts at 11pm tonight.
