Richard Gadd expresses his “bittersweet” sentiment as the awards circuit for his Netflix smash-hit Baby Reindeer comes to an end.

Speaking on the red carpet at this year’s BAFTA TV awards ceremony, Gadd said, “It’s (Baby Reindeer) has come full circle back to the BAFTAs.”

“It feels bittersweet. It feels sad in a way as it comes to an end.” Gadd added. “But it’s also a nice way to mark the end.”

Baby Reindeer received four BAFTA nominations, including Best Limited Drama and and Best Leading Actor.

I’m just very proud of the show and everything it has achieved. It feels emotional.

Jessica Gunning and Nava Mau were both nominated for the Best Supporting Actress, with the former taking home the coveted BAFTA Mask for her portrayal of Martha Scott.

Other winners

Mr Loverman and Mr Bates vs the Post Office were also among the big winners at Sunday’s red carpeted event.

Toby Jones, who plays Sir Alan Bates in the much-acclaimed ITV dramatisation of the Post Office scandal, said that the awards circuit has allowed them to ‘keep the focussing’ on the issue that is still to be resolved.

“The true satisfaction of the project would be when they (the wrongly accused subpostmasters) get what is due to them”.
