The NFL is rapidly growing in the UK with London hosting 42 regular-season games since 2007. London also houses the only purpose-built NFL stadium outside of North America – the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
As popularity soars, many are now calling for the capital to host a Super Bowl. Prominent voices include Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and former cornerback Jason Bell who is confident that the league will soon bring its showpiece finale to the UK.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has not shied away from expanding the American game worldwide, as the NFL’s International Games 2025 saw games in Sao Paulo, Berlin, and Madrid, as well as Tottenham and Wembley here in London. The NFL’s international growth plan also aims to hit its $25B revenue goal by 2027.
The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is seen as the UK’s ‘Home of NFL’ and has been tied with franchises including the New York Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars. Goodell has not yet ruled out the possibility of the UK housing a team, saying “who knows, if we continue to see that amount of growth we could have a franchise there one day”.
Though, this year the Super Bowl will remain in the States, being hosted at San Francisco’s Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.
The New England Patriots will face off against the favoured Seattle Seahawks. This is the Patriot’s first Super Bowl appearance since they had legendary quarterback Tom Brady and Head Coach Bill Belichick at the helm.
Now the Patriots are coached by former line-backer Mike Vrabel, who previously won a Super Bowl with the Patriots in 2005. Victory on Sunday would make him the first person in history to win a Super Bowl as coach and player for the same team.

The Patriots’ hopes lie on the shoulders of second year QB and MVP contender, Drake Maye, who has 4,394 passing yards and crucially 450 rushing yards. Boston booms for the UNC graduate, and third round pick, as they hope to kickstart another dynasty in New England. Uninitiated at this level and with an offensive line compiled of three rookies, fans across the world are keen to see whether he can handle the pressure.
Stefon Diggs will also be one to watch. A top-20 receiver in the League who will also be looking to return wearing a ring in his Super Bowl debut.
For Seattle, they will look to continue their regimented, near-unbreakable defence. The Seahawks only conceded 292 points the whole regular season, the fewest of any team in the League.

Seattle Seahawks Quarterback Sam Darnold is a well-established player and the first freshman to win the Archie Griffin Award while playing for the USC Trojans.
Success has largely come for Darnold when linking with the League leader in receiving yards, Jaxon Smith-Njigba. With 1,793 yards this past season, Seattle will be looking for him to make the difference.
The game will kick off at 23:30, and you can watch it via Sky Sports or ITV.
