The comedian Russell Brand is being investigated over two further rape allegations.
The new accusations can be reported after a jury found him guilty on Thursday of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault.
He was cleared of two further charges of rape and one allegation of attempted indecent assault.
Evidence at the trial exposed Brand as a man who exploited his position, forcing victims into sexual activity, in some cases within seconds of meeting them.
During the trial, his entourage and entertainment bosses faced accusations of failing to act on complaints against the comedian.
The Metropolitan Police has confirmed that investigations are ongoing into the two fresh allegations of rape made against Brand.
Pre-trial court hearings revealed that one of the complaints comes from a woman who dated Brand when he was 30 years old and she was 16 years old.
Responding to today’s verdict, Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy said that it was “first and foremost a testament to the extraordinary courage, resilience and determination of the women who came forward”.
He added: “Brand used his influence, status, and fame to exploit and sexually offend against women. As his profile grew, so too did his sense of entitlement.”
Brand will be sentenced next Monday. The judge, Mr Justice Bennathan, said he would “inevitably” face a “significant custodial term”.
