Firefighters and officers are dealing with a fire at a waste recycling centre in Hackney Wick.
The warehouse contains around 15,000 tonnes of mixed household waste and is currently alight.
Smoke from the fire is blowing across the A12. Drivers are urged to take extra care and residents have been advised to keep their doors and windows shut.
The Fire Brigade were notified of the fire at 23:28 on the 12th October
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
The smoke disrupts travel on the A12.
