‘Muddy Boots’ meat shop in Crouch End has been targeted by thieves stealing joints of meat directly from the shelves.

Miranda Ballard, owner of the local butchers, penned an open letter to the criminals, pleading for them to stop.

The incidents seem to be a wider issue in Crouch End as local supermarkets are also being targeted.

The stolen meat is allegedly being sold on in various different pubs around the borough.

It has been reported to the police but so far no arrests have been made.

CCTV images have shown a number of suspects who seem to be working together.

Police have asked members of the public not to engage with any activity of this kind and to report anything they may witness to local authorities immediately.
